Leadership Development Program

Leadership Development Program

Our 5‑hour Leadership Development Program gives youth and adults a powerful day to discover what real leadership feels like - from the inside out. Rather than sitting in a classroom hearing about leadership traits, participants step into a living farm and forest environment where every activity is an opportunity to practice courage, empathy, and wise decision‑making.

We anchor the day in social‑emotional learning and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Early on, our focus is safety and trust: small‑group introductions, clear ground rules, and simple activities with goats and chickens that show how calm presence and consistent behavior build trust. As confidence grows, we move into adventure challenges in the woods where participants must communicate clearly, share responsibility, and stay aware of one another.

Throughout these experiences, we surface key leadership skills: how to speak up respectfully, how to listen fully, how to recognize strengths in quieter group members, and how to navigate disagreement without shaming or shutting people down. We address bullying directly - inviting participants to notice power dynamics, explore the impact of exclusion, and practice concrete tools for interrupting harmful behavior and building a culture of respect.

Arts and reflection circles around a "campfire" space (outdoors or indoors, depending on weather) help participants integrate what they've learned. Short guided exercises invite them to map their own leadership story: moments when they felt brave, times they wish they had acted differently, and how they want to show up in their schools, teams, workplaces, or communities going forward.

By the end of the day, participants leave with a shared language for leadership, practical anti‑bullying strategies, and a felt sense of what it means to create safety and belonging for others. This experience can stand alone or lead into deeper 4 A's programming for groups who want to keep growing together.
